Mawer v2.0 no IE6

bartonmawer_v2.jpg

Ive done a major overhaul to bartonmawer.com, the template got severely reconstructed.
Besides the graphic update its, now its possible to use both side bars on demand, and Ive embedded "user1" (see the "no ie6 banner" position) and "user2" in the main section assignable through the back-end, plus the navigation bar and the sponsorbar are customizable too through the CMS.

*-- cut no ie6 support - new post here: duijnunder.com/blog/coding/no_more_ie6_sup

sublime sleep

Alright, my cleanest design ever is online and kicking.. first of all the product sold in the site is truly amazing, its soft and always stays in shape. Never ever you have to fluf your pillow up before you lay down ur head.

sublimesleeponline.jpg
! -- beware double dutch only at the moment...

www.sublimesleep.nl

The whole thing was coded according to my design in NL, then came back for final touch up.
It will grow in the couple months as its pretty empty at the moment, but first have to get some feel of what is going to happen with it.

bartonmawer.com

Still a lot of work todo, but as of today my newest creation went live: www.bartonmawer.com. YAY

bartonmawer_v1.2.jpg
I will continue working on the site, as I still havent reached the style I was looking for content wise. And I will make some extra graphics to spice things up a bit, plus now when I filled the site up, it starts opening up new areas I want to touch up. Also will add some modules to the site, like a contact form, newsflash, photo gallery etc.

We had to go online just in time for the Australian grandprix in Melbourne where Barton has 4 races in the Australian Porsche Carrera Cup.

The site runs on Joomla 1.5 CMS and ive built a template from scratch to fit my design, what was an interesting adventure on its own, and still needs some attention here and there :) But ive been able to do the whole thing on my own, and im pleased with that!

The site is tested and runs good on:
IE 7.0.5
Opera 9.01
Firefox 2.0.0.12
Safari (win) 3.0.3 - u gotta love the graphics rendering :)

If someone spots problems please let me know the browser and version.

Barton himself has been an absolute champ in delivering content, photo's and logo's plus he's been superb in communication! Good luck this weekend mate hope you get the top 5 now!

Loansmiths v1

Just finished first preview for a great new project im working on for Loansmiths. I am trying to aim for more of a portal type front, that will enable the customers of loansmiths to access all features of the site quickly and organized. The biggest challenge is to make it function that way, yet making it look nice and clean.
As this is my first try its going to be a small preview :)

loansmithsv1.jpg

The colours and fonts are chosen by the customer, for start I thought it was going to be hard job to make them work, but in this design I think it really works very well.

Barton Mawer site

bm1.jpg

Just finished creating a temporarily under construction page for Barton Mawer, and now going to work on the rest of the site. His old site needed desperately a refresh.
Barton Mawer is a very talented race driver, and has been driving in many different car classes, like Formula 3 here and in Europe, but also last season was test driver for the Australian team in the A1GP!

porschecarrera-gt3.jpg

This season '08 Barton started driving in the Australian Porsche Carrera Cup (GT3), and has a very good package to do well as debutant in this new class.
Its already been very great working with Barton, very helpful and straight down the line plus good communication level, so no doubt this is going to a super project for me.

Havent got the google bot around yet to LOGOBALLS.com.au, but the ninemsn search of Australia already topranks us with search strings like:

logoballs.com.au

Done some updates recently on logoballs.com.au, its going into the right direction with the site.

logoballsv2.jpg

The viewers are from all over the world, which is interesting.
A big customer was already and still is the all famous Reuters! And also the company I work for now Silicon Controls ordered more Golf Gift Packs to hand out to clients!
Now we have to get the online ordering set, as in the order sheets en some more clear workflows towards it untill we can open a online shop, still have to create some more images (TeePacks), then we can attack the actual marketing strategy!
FYI: the image in the header shown in picture i made on Wentworth Falls Golf Course in the Blue Mountains, very nice golf course, very nice weekend up there actually.

Gaslog

gaslogbg.jpg
I'm on a new project at the moment, and it is a very interesting one. I work for a company called Silicon Control, who develop and sell software and hardware to monitor the levels of gas and water tanks etc. In example they sell the products to gas companies whom hold 1 to 100+ and even 1000+ gas stations to measure and maintain the levels of the main tanks, so they can see when to send the truck out for refilling etc.

They’ve got a couple of ways to retrieve the data, by radio transmitter that is hooked up to another device on the phone line, and today I've attended a meeting that showed a great new and flexible technologie to send the data across.
They've developed everything themselves and the products are used all over the world.

My dear friend Wayne (Vision golf balls) told one of our basketball team members what I've done for logoballs.com.au (tnx buddy), and so "Tony" who i've been playing basketball with now for the second season, invited me to his company to see if I can do some work for them.
They have made a program (gaslog) that harvests all the data, and pushes all the info and options forward onto the screen.
And now they are developing a web based version of some services they have for the costumers.
The last couple of days I’ve worked hard to give theirs in asp.net written web application some fresh new looks.

Today I did my presentation on my work, and its an all a "go forward deal".
They are going to use my User Interface (UI) idea for the application. YEAH!
I'm am first off all, most proud to work with these people as they are very knowledgeable and interesting people (all engineers), and also that my work is going to be published onto a great program that will be distributed all over the world.

gaslogpreview.jpg
(sneak preview of my design) To my knowledge also the Dutch based "Primagas" works with their software and hardware. I work closely and very pleasant with Tony as Director of the company and Brian the developer of the program. PS. The top logo image I quickly recreated from the existing gaslog logo as background for my presentation, and now the other director wants to use it to.. lol

logoballs.com.au

logoballs.jpg
Wow.. after some pretty hard work (in my opinion ;), I could finally release my first project!

LOGOBALLS.com.au

The site is about personalising your golf balls, and golf tees but also it provides you some personalised gift packs. This means you can put your name or initials or even a logo on your golf balls or longlife tees.
At the moment you can only print golf balls on this site, and the choise is between the premium brands FANTOM and VISION golf balls, where VISION is having a special story attached for me.. but will tell you when the time is right.

It's not completely finished yet, but we had to put it online as there was a big golf show on this weekend, which I also will tell you more on later..

I completely made the site from scratch, and took all the pictures in there, and made all the artwork and site design plus coding.. it works in firefox, safari and netscape etc browsers , (I must say it works better in firefox vs IE), along with Internet Explorer and is very CSS driven.

logoballs2.jpg

I'll still have to add some pictures, header keywords (google etc) and I do feel that I have to make some processes work more clear and more easy to handle, but so far this non interactive site is pushing its purpose to its very limit!

There are way more things to come, as in online order forms and also in the future this site is going to be hooked up to a central eCommerce solution, but untill then I'll make this one more and more fall in its place.

I'm very pleased with the result, although I really have to finish and tie up some ends to make it work properly.
Feel free to browse it, and I know I still have to do heaps of work on it, if you got some comments pls let me know.
