On Air again
After a massive 4 years, my true trooper and dear companion passed away. My beloved HP nc8000 has been a super piece of equipment to me, and I was blessed and amazed about its performance and very impressive endurance. Even in the last hours it was capable of handling my massive Photoshop files and even been able to run COD4 :)
(My HP nc8000 - 1.6 Ghz Mobile proc, 2Gb RAM, 40 GB HD + 80 GB HD Multibay, Ati 9200 Pro Mobile 64 Mb dedicated)
Ok ok.. this was really bad timing, and was hoping for it to survive until June or July, thanks to some quick support on both sides of the globe (Pa & Steve from Vital), I was able to acquire quickly a new machine, and took with that a huge step forward! As of now I can try to enter the design world as a MacBook Pro user.
Equipped with a massive 250 Gb HD and 4GB RAM on Mac OSX AND Windows XPPro i've got all the best of both worlds!
Installing the MacBook with both operating systems was a breeze with BootCamp and all XP drivers packed in the box by Mac! Now who’s not afraid hey :)
Although Im familiar with Mac Os and already acquired a special interest in the OS, for now I am still setting myself up on XPPro, mainly coz I have most software for it.
Lots of new hurdles to conquer to make both worlds work the way I want or was used to, but for sure its going to be a very interesting journey!
But excuse me for a moment,.... first I have to delete "comic sans" from my new machine before I proceed :)

Little site problems still in play:
- Comment Preview: Doesn't seem to work with "bingo" comment challenge. Normal view works fine.
Work around: Use back button to go to original view and hit post after seeing preview.
- Email commnent on reply: Doesn't send email :(

Arrived safe
After a 28 hour flight (i think), from Sydney to Taipei to Bankok then to Amsterdam.. I finally arrived safe this morning in Holland!
Had a great trip, starting with Wayne from vision golf ball.com being the legend by dropping me off at the airport in professional golf style lol ..thanks mate!
I had 10 KG too much weight, as I brought my golfclubs, but no extra charges and I also got for the first part a big seat spot due to my length lol.. YAY
Wow I think I set the world record, getting out of Schiphol airport.
When I got out of the plane, I was able to out run the mass.. straight through passport check with no hick-ups, to the special sizes bag collection, to pick up my clubs who were already out there, then I turned around and could grab my other bag immediately from the conveyor belt.. (wow), chucked them on the trolley, straight to "nothing to declare", with 15 officers getting ready to catch the big wave of incoming...
The last officer in line hold me up and asked "where did my trip come from", I said "Sydney".. he immediately replied,.. "pff thats a long way, off you go have a good trip home!" YAY
This whole event took less then 25 minutes from touchdown to my parents happy arms!
Ow btw.. I got a cheap China airways flight saving 600 aussie dollar, and its all good.. very great service, not that dodgy.. first flight had personal entertainment system, the two others only community entertainment system.

Post Check
To prevent spambots to automaticly inject my blog with there shitty messages, i've embedded a plugin that creates a visual check to see if you are a human, or something else that can read and type :)
So when you post a message you have to type the word 'BINGO' in the bottom textfield before you press the post button.
Om de spambots tegen te gaan heb ik een plugin geingstalleerd die moet filteren of je een mens of robot ben.
Dus als je een berichtje post moetje onderaan de post bericht even het woord 'BINGO' tiepen voordat je op de post button druk.

No there is nothing wrong with your computer, and clicking on that popup didnt change your font..
Ive changed the font again.. lol, it was originally my first choice to use, but drifted away towards a more classic royal look. Now back to the as I would call it "NoteBlog" font..

Happy 2007
happy 2007 everyone !!
Its save to say 2007 is here and for you people on the otherside of the globe, its a fact... and comming your way very soon!
Just got back from the city, and again watched the fireworks near the operahouse and the harbour-bridge here in Sydney. Before that we watched the fireworks at 9 oclock in darling harbour. Ally and I took 12 y/o Lauren (Scotts (brother Ally) daugter) to this must see with own eyes shift in years. It was a bit to crowded this year but nonetheless it still is a great experience.
I got interviewed by an ABC lady, so maybe i'll have my 15 seconds of fame in Australia soon.. :)
Wish you all the very best in the new year, and I've tried many many times to get my text messages through, but vodaphone doesnt have me on his/her priority list as must handle first costumers.. so sorry, hope you get my wishes through here.
Berend, thanks for your quick response in the other post, ur the man.. ! same to you and Ellen and please send our wishes to your fam and to the crew (Siempie, Jarno, Kat, Et and Etc.. )

Best wishes everyone, enjoy my fresh created Xmas card for you all!, its my impression of Santa in Australia :)
I mean its still a weird thing for me, seeing Santa's running around here in high summer, 40 degree weather!, having a barbie (BBQ) with xmas songs on the background.. its my third xmas in Sydney, and dont think I can get used to Santa's in hot weather, but all other ingredients during this time (BBQ's, just couple of beers etc..) are "No Worries"... :)

v2.1.2
Finally my design is getting somewhere, pff took me little while but now I'v put the last things in that I wanted to put in, and its atleast two browser compatible, IE 6 and Firefox.
Ive asked Rob to look at the site in Safari, and will check later for IE7 to put in the last compromises to enhance the viewing pleaser 4all, and make the site look in all browser the way I want it to look.. :)
V2.1.2 has new:
- Date style top (per day)
- Catagory dislayed the post is filed under
- Post title style
- Quotes in blockquote tag (very manual)
- Box for Perm link, Trackback and date plus Author
- Comments link place
- Divider bottom post.
Pls let me know if you see some major browser issues.

Visa App
Fingers crossed now, with a slight *cough* delay from my part I send off my permanent resident visa application to the Australian Immigration Office!
I should have taken a copy of my previous entry for temp/spouse Visa that went to Berlin. That would have saved me a lot of hassle and puzzling out dates and times of whereabouts again.
I didnt want to ask my parents yet to dig into my pile of boxes and other leftbehinds on their attic to find the copies, so I had to put in some estimates.. hope it'll be alright.
This next step in the visa application, is all about proving the relationship still exists, and if i have been a good boy here in Australia!
Cassa (Ally's sister), and Gwen (Ally's mum) were kind enough to be my references. My friend Wayne was kind enough to be a reference too, but thought it would be better to have people who know both sides of the story.... lol
Hopefully everything can be processed in one go, without to many problems!

Font=Georgia
As of now the center content will be displayed in the font "Georgia", second in line is former Ms Trebuchet, and if you dont have them both you'll end up seeing Verdana or Arial.
I am going for a more classic look and feel for the content text, also the spacing in line-height and letter height is slightly adjusted.
I've seen that Trebuchet in smaller font-size gets rendered pretty poor by gecko based browsers like Firefox, so I was on the hunt for a new core font.. and as of today i've decided to go with the M$ font "Georgia".

IE6
Aii.. yesterday evening late, I've found out that the complete right side (categories etc) gets pushed all the way down of this site in IE6 (Internet Explorer 6), of all browsers I didnt expect IE6 to be the problem child :P.
I dont know for how long this problem is there, as just before launch it wasnt there. I'm sure its a margin issue so I will have a look later tonight (its now morning here).
I put some nice fancy borders around the pictures yesterday night, so maybe thats the problem..
IE7 (currently using), and firefox are no problem!
sorry for the inconvenience .. hope to fix it asap.
If someone who is using Internet Explorer 6, can tell me if the categories where always down, or just after today, that'll help !

Still at work
Pff.. wow, what a week this week..and the last couple of weeks.. got a couple of nice e-mails, thanks for that.. very happy with them.
I've been working almost straight at the interface for the application for silicon controls, and I think I'm heading in the right direction with little and gr8 steering from the people at silicon control.
I've been creating my own set of icons for this program, I will post my full set of icons maybe later, when there is no danger of some1 ripping them, as I got a google hit on my previous post.. so... ssst. (thats why I post only half pictures of my work.. ) I'm very happy with the result I'm getting and the guys at the office so far react good also. This monday it'll be the next presentation day and I will show what i made so far.. hope for the best, but then again, I really think I hit the right spot on this.
I've also spiced up the the look from previous idea for the total program, as some questions or comments pushed the limit up anyway.

This whole week i've been seeing so much stuff I wanna change about DUIJNUNDER.com, that when I got a spare moment I will continue what I started. I now also added a catagory template, so the catagory views will get the full skin.
Hopefully the weather is good tomorrow, so I can get a game of golf in... sticks are getting to much rest this way.. lol

Well here it is .. (kinda)
DUIJNUNDER.com v2.1.0 !
The last weeks I worked on and off on the new version of DUIJNUNDER, as v1.2.4 was made before firefox made it big, and my coding wasnt really great. There is still a lot i want to change and add to the site, but better go live now, as busy times arrive again.. so I can use it as portfolio for my work also..
Ive seen a couple of errors already (mainly margin), and will touch them up asap, but for now enjoy the new duijnunder.
Ive picked up also a view templates for comments and archive, still got a couple more to do.. so beware u wont get this pretty face everyware yet..
Ive tested the site in:
- IE 7.0 (best)
- IE 6x
- Firefox 1.5x (some margin changes)
- Opera has some errors in header
I wonder what the site looks like in Safari, and other mac/unix - linux based inviroments.
Pls dont hessitate to leave a comment, if you find any problems.. or wanna share your opinion.

BabySit
As Holland gets hit by a massive heatwave (38 acording to my mum), we here in Australia still have the winter to cope with.. ok ok it aint below zero, but the weather is shitty lately and its around 15 to 18 degrees with lots of rain.
Ally and I are on baby sit the next 3 weeks, well baby sit.. 2 very adult and very set in theire mind cats, Benny (gray), and Taj (orange) we are minding. They are good fun both but also a bit demanding sometimes, and always hungry. The good thing also is Ally and I have the house to our own, its a very nice house. To bad it doesnt have broadband internet, but it does have FOX on TV (pay tv), so I can watch my discovery channel and all sports channels again!, watching the brittish open (golf) as we speak.
As I said the internet is very limited here, but if the wind is kind I can pick up someones unsecured open belkin router.. lol, anyway thats enough for some email etc.
I'm about to finish and launch a project i'm working on hopefully tomorrow, I will show you when possible.
Als i'm starting gathering more info on setting up DUIJNUNDER.com for all browsers and ive already halfway finished a refresh of this design. So people with Gecko based browsers like firefox etc can see DUIJNUNDER.com also the way it is meant to be. :)

Back on track
Pff, it took me a little while to get completely up and running.. but finally scored all the programs I needed, and was using before but now the new versions hey.. lol.
In the mean time did a bit of gardning, well.... I did the easy part, completely remove all tiles and pavers and dig some holes.. plus I managed to get a game of golf in almost every day, so that is progressing very nicely! :)
Allright, next plans.. Im working on a site at the moment that probably will be ready by the end of next week.. its about golf, and will let u know when its finished, im pretty happy with the design I created, and i'm now in the process of filling in the content, pictures etc... I'll show u when its online.
After that, I'm gonna make a site for a golfball brand here in Australia called Vision! Its a new ball and its a very very very kewl thing.. cant wait to start on that one also!
There are more plans going around, but let u know as time comes.
I'm also not very happy that my site doesnt work properly in firefox, I know its a margin thing.. but my tables are so outdated and completely unorganised... and it aint a thing anymore to make style with tables.
The new sites im making are more CSS driven so hopefully I find some time to update and refresh DUIJNUNDER.com, but I want the old style still available for archive purposes and portfolio.
Any way.. back to work! :)

HD crash!
Its all happening at ones hey, on the same day my weblog template got corrupted my harddrive of my notebook crashed aswell!
HP was kind enough to send someone down to replace the HD within 2 business days.. (under warranty) so I could start all over again with installing all programs andsoforth..
The good thing is, ive got a lighning fast machine again..and I didnt loose to much data.. the bad thing is im still chasing some programs i desperatly want.
As for DUIJNUNDER.com, today i could replace the template with an older parsing template for the website, so I can post again!!
Now when ive got my CS2 again i can fix it properly..
This means some links are not there anymore and the search option is disabled!
My dear father had is birthday in the mean time.. i couldt post about it, but my message was received! Luckely they are in Italy at the moment, so dont think he missed the post!

Whoa.. thats funny! I was listening to a PodCast from FBi radio here in Sydney, and one of the topics was fonts..
Also according to this PodCast (20.1 MB) Comic Sans is sooooo not kewl, and more interesting the font of 2006 is Trebuchet hahaha.. mehn thats funny!
Ps. FBi radio on the 94.5 here in the air is a alternative radio station that plays the songs from in and around Sydney bands and culture but also songs from around the world that you wont normally hear unless there is big money behind it or various other stupid reasons. FBi is kewl and publicly funded, so no stupid washing powder commercials or bullock interuptions like that. They are realising the Stream Dream as we speak so in not so long time you can pick them up on the web also as fulltime stream!

Feeling Blue!? DUIJNUNDER.com v1.3.1
My first colour scheme for this site (red-green), was ment to be a bit towards "comic" style.. well, I quickly got tired of that.. and because this site at the moment needs a remake coding wise sooner than design.. i wont go all the way yet..
As this site was my first complex attempt to get my artwork into HTML (1.5 year ago), I never could find out why Firefox can't show my site properly :( .. as the code is a maze of tables to get my own way of an 3 column layout going, I can't blame Firefox :P .
ive quickly changed some little CSS settings and pictures to give DUIJNUNDER.com hopefully an more relaxed feeling for the time being or should I say a bit cooler feeling.. !
Also are the auto generated META tags for the page entries finally into place, so hopefully google will like me to! :P
And the archive button is activated, showing the DUIJNUNDER.com archive in the default MovableType v3.2 template (luckely also in blue:).
So next step hopefully the code.. so Gecko based (firefox, safari etc.. ) browsers will show my site also the way I want it..

Upgrade 3.2
Huishoudelijke mededeling:
Pff.. ik nu ongeveer 4 berichten half klaar in het CMS staan om af te maken en te posten... aangezien er echt hele leuke dingen gebeurt zijn de afgelopen tijd. Hoop snel ze af te kunnen typen.. :)
In de tussentijd heb ik DUIJNUNDER.com geupgrade van versie 3.15 naar 3.2. Wat al weer een upgrade was die ik veel eerder had moeten doen :)
Kzit erover te denken om tijdelijk even weer terug te gaan naar een standaard template/skin, zodat mozilla firefox en safari gebruikers de site ook wat beter kunnen bekijken.. had deze site ontworpen al weer mr dan een jaar geleden, en wist toen nog niet zoveel van HTML/php coding af.... err.. moet nu beter kunnen :)
Er zijn ook wat plugins die ik wil installeren in deze versie.. dus vandaar ook de upgrade!
Nu weer vrolijk verder...

Mooo!??
Waar sloeg dat nou op? Mooo! .. simpel uitgelegd, kwas beetje moe! Het valt me een beetje tegen om constant over mezelf te schrijven, en wat ik allemaal heb meegemaakt enzo, vond het een beetje erg ikke ikke worden. Ook heb ik in het verleden uren gespendeerd om een verhaaltje in elkaar te trappen, en blijkt dat niemand het ECHT leest.
Daarnaast koesterde ik al tijden de hoop om mijn blog dus meer inhoud te geven door over diverse andere zaken te communiceren, zoals wat er allemaal op het web rondwaard etc,.. maar dan moet je natuurlijk wel vaak op het internet zitten, en dat zit ik dus niet meer... dus "content" (voer) kan ik al bijna niet meer verzorgen. En dus was tijdgebrek niet alleen de radio stilte veroorzaker maar ook even een stapje terug om te kijken wat ik kan doen om het wat makkelijker en sneller te maken, om evt. weer te gaan posten...
Maar nu heb ik zeker wel wat om over te schrijven..,
Ally en ik zijn vorige week maandag terug gekomen van een weekje (10 dgn) Bali, tsja.. da's vannuit hier net zoiets als even naar Gran Canaria ofzo.. maar dan uiteraard vele malen beter. Reden van dit bezoekje was dat Berend en Ellen (.nl) in het huwelijksbootje zijn gestapt op 2 Juni jl. En dit met onder andere Jarno, Simone en Patrick nog eens in Bali wilden uitborrelen voor een aantal weken. Die kans hebben wij dus ook aangegrepen om weer eens lekker ouderweds gezellig onder het genot van een ijskoude Bintang het kersverse bruidspaar te feliciteren.
Ik heb zo'n donkerbruin (inmiddels al weer wat lichter) vermoedde dat dit gelukt is, denk dat de felicitaties over gekomen zijn.. haha! Het was een waanzinnig weekje en het was super gezelli. Niet alleen zijn de surfspieren aardig op de proef gesteld, maar ook de raft (niet ruft), lach en arac (lokale jenever) spieren ook weer lekker getraind.
Nogmaals en nogmaals Beer eL, Jarno en Simone en uiteraard Patrick.. super bedankt voor deze toppie tijd.
Met mijn vorige bezoek aan Bali was ik al in het binnenlandse dorpje Ubud een oud buurtgenoot tegen het lijf gelopen, ook deze trip had weer een aangename verrassing in petto, waar inneens op Kuta beach een wat grijzende persoon breed glimlachend op mij afliep.... Tadaaa.. Bart! Even om de verrassing wat uitteleggen, Bart was onze buurjongen in Oudorp, en denk dat ik hem zeker al 13 jaar niet meer gezien heb. Whoa Bart, was jammer dat we elkaar op de laatste dag pas konden tegenkomen, maar goed beter dan helemaal niet natuurlijk. Hoop datje weer heelhuids terug ben gekeerd, en het was leuk om ook je parner Cindy te ontmoeten. Nu maar even afwachten of de lokale tamtam je ook naar dit berichtje zal leiden, dan hebbie eventuel mijn foto ook.. (orgineel is op verzoek verkrijgbaar.. :).
Aangezien o.a. Berend ookal me toch dringend heeft verzocht weer wat vaker te posten zal ik mijn best doen weer wat meer neer te zetten. Dan maar wat minder wollig, aangezien mijn text toch al lekker oploopt als ik eenmaal zit.
Als het een beetje meezit zijn mijn ouders ook al weer onderweg naar huis vannuit Italië, dan kunnie die de lokale tamtam aanzetten aangaande Bart! :)
Heb nu Adobe Creative Suite CS2 van mijn werk, die eindelijk een leuke photoalbum template hebben erin geprakt, volledig in flash.. dus denk dat ik dat gauw ga gebruiken om mijn foto's ff online te knallen.
Zoals boven al beetje aangegeven, hebben Berend & L een prachtige website als huwelijks kado gekregen, waar hun hele trouwerij heel mooi is weergegeven.. www.berendenellen.nl

Makkelijker dan..
Zoals meeste van jullie al gezien hebben, waren de "comments" pagina's en de "archive" pagina's niet helemaal op de sfeer afgestemd. Op de een of andere manier wilde die niet naar de stylesheet luisteren die ik ervoor gemaakt had. Niks moeilijke script problemen, het bleek een vrij simpel over het hoofd gezien typ-vautje ;). Enfin, ze zijn nu allen meer in de DUIJNUNDER.com style. Ik laat ze voorlopig nog zo, aangezien ze lekker snel laden.
Ook kan ik bij deze melden, dat DUIJNUNDER.com niet helemaal "firefox"* compatible is, zoals Bear al had opgemerkt dit ligt niet aan "firefox"* maar gewoon aan mijn HTML kunst en vliegwerk :)
* Wat is firefox, dit is een browser zoals explorer die je waarschijnlijk nu gebruikt om op mijn site te komen. Firefox is desalniettemin ook eens het proberen waard, en heeft leuke handigheidjes, zoals een ingebouwde "RSS" reader in de vorm van "Live Bookmarks", en is gewoon gratis te downloaden en te gebruiken.

Guestbook
Er was duidelijk nog geen plek op mijn log, waar je onderwerp onafhankelijk je berichtjes kwijt kon, dus creër ik op deze manier een gastenboek om het wat makkelijker terug te vinden. Dus als je gewoon een berichtje wil achterlaten kan je dat nu ook hieronder doen, zonder datje hoeft te zoeken naar een post waar je evt. denkt het bij te kunnen zetten.

Ok, na een wat verborgen probleem met de comments, die uiteraard pas zichtbaar was als er comments gepost werden, is hier dan DUIJNUNDER.com v 1.1.2. take 2. Nou als de sodemieter gaan bloggen voordat alle data uit het lichte hoofdje van mij verdwijnt.

DUIJNUNDER.com v 1.1.2
Het werd maar eens tijd dat de boel online ging! Loop natuurlijk schreeuwend achter met alle gebeurtenissen te posten hiero op m'n log. Het viel niet mee om mijn design via 56k in HTML om te zetten, als je op de "Hmm eens kijken wat dit doet" manier werkt. Enfin, het is wel mooi om te zien, dat al mijn gfx zonder al te veel cutbacks, online zijn gekomen. Er valt nog veel te doen, maar de basis is iig gezet. Alle comment templates, archive en catagorie templates moeten nog naar deze stijl omgezet worden, en uiteraard komen er nog wat meer buttons in de header. Maar eerst even wat achterstallige info posten, zodat ik uptodate ben.

Under construction
Hmm.. kzal al weer dat de eerste post verdwenen was in het archief. Ben zowaar aangekomen in Sydney, na een 3 daagse bezoek aan Singapore.. later zal ik daar meer over posten. Ik ben nu naarstig opzoek naar bbreedte hiero, heb het design voor dit weblog af, en ga kijken of ik het ook daadwerkelijk online kan krijgen.
Vooralsnog hou ik het dus nog ffies kort, en bedankt alvast voor de al geposte reacties!

Whoa.. duijnunder is born, if the dns (24/48 hrs) catches up it would be worldwide available.
Lets see if we can try to make some nice templates to spice up the default view.
