Euro 2008 live

Watch Euro Cup 2008 live online via:
freelivevoetbal.nl

Good list of different types of programs to use and languages/channels to choose from per game.
Also choose the application to view it with. I was already using SobCast and TVU player, but there are couple more to choose from.

YesTV SobCast
stream did the NED1 broadcast for the already legendary NETHERLANDS vs ITALY game, so I could enjoy the game complete with dutch commentary (Frank Snoeks - Tom Egberts - Johan Cruijff etc) and vibe! :) what a cracker of a game!!

Triple Crown 07 #3

Came back this monday from again a full weekend in Canberra with the Australia Triple Crown
players, but most of all the Dutchies!! (Jenno, Jelle etc...)
It was a great weekend, except for my speeding ticket.. *cough* (lost points there..arrgh)

The Dutch Crew had chipped in for a place to stay and shouted me the the dinner with all the Triple Crown players! Thanks guys, that was superb!
Had a couple of great nights out with the guys, also with the local Aussie players and the Irish champs!

Monday morning I drove back to Sydney (300k), accompanied by the sisters Esther and Irene, throwing some music culture at me (AbbA & Queen:) whom I both dropped off at the Australian Youth Hostel in Sydney City!

Ive got a couple of days to recover again, and will catch up for one more time later this week.. have to give my body some rest somehow :)

Overall it was an fantastic tournament, and to me its the power of the community who makes it all happen. Going to keep my eye open to this way of playing.. its got superb potential IMO (In My Opinion)

Super credit to Jenno and Jelle for being so much of a Vision suporter, and played both many games with our vision balls! The Irish say they are going to test after the tournament season what they can do with the ball, and most of our shirts and caps were happily worn during the triple crown. The french were already playing the Xpert2 and giving them away printed with the logo of the french on it to their opponents.

Ps Jenno Wolters has updated his photos!

Triple Crown 07 upd

Got myself and VISION and the Vision UV Yellow, the first Australian Golf title:

"Australian Matchplay Champion 2007"
Men’s B Division

Gosh, that was a great tournament.. ive never expected it to be so good! The Short Course Golf (aka Pitch and Putt) community is a super bunch of dedicated SC Golf people.

australian match play winner 07

We've played from Thursday to Saturday and an average of 3 matches a day, conform Matchplay rules. Matchplay is a very mentally though golf game, were you score a point per hole or square the hole (even) or loose the hole. This means out of 18 holes you need to win most holes.

I've met so many great people, and most of my time I spend with the dutch crew :) naming Jenno Wolters and his girlfriend Kirsten, Kirsten’s brother Niels, Jelle Wabnitz and dutch top woman player Esther Newsum. (ps all "A" Division players)

eero jelle jenno esther per

Boy did I had a good time with those guys.. pff, was great talking some plain ol dutch again.. spend most evenings after the tournament at the hotel and campsite of the guys having a few beers :P. The guys had smuggled some typical "Groningse gedroogde worst" into the country(dried sausage, bit like the south african drywors), gosh what a fantastic suprise.. half of the stack got conviscated by the customs, a shear sacrifice for the stash that made it through.. lol (Groningen 1 - Aussie customs 0 :P)

vision uv yellow by kirsten
photo by kirsten tiggelaar & jenno wolters

Interesting note was I played with the Vision UV Yellow in a precision golf game on an very high quality course at Terrey Hills. The ball performed really well although its more leaning towards a longer straighter game. I could stop the ball pretty much everywhere !!!!!

Other interesting note, my semi-final against a french guy was undecided after 18 holes and took 3 playoff holes and had only 5 points total, the rest was all square.. amazing great game that was, my hart was pumping at the end and shaking all over.. sunk a 6 ft put to birdie and take the win!

The final was a breeze compared to all other games.. didnt even gave the poor english (living in france) guy a chance.. after 10 holes it was 8 points for me and 2 squares.. lol he conceded obviously :)

The sunday we went with the whole crew plus Jim Judge (IRE) to explore Sydney.. again just having a few quiet beers with the crew.. lol

Niels Tiggelaar

The crew is up to Canberra now to play the second and third leg of the Triple Crown tournament, maybe I can drive up this weekend to cheer the guys on.

Ps.. the dutch crew looooooove the vision balls YAYAY .. !!
PPs.. beating a Pro V1 player with a UV Yellow feels goooooood !!
PPPs.. sleeping with Jelle in one bed, crashed out on beer is safe.. :P

Triple Crown 07

Triple Crown - Promo

Because im such a good golfer *cough* 4x !, I am going to participate in a National Championship!
owkay, owkay, owkay.. it is for Short Course Golf, aka Pitch and Put aka Par3 Golf, but nevertheless it has very serious participants and it draws world wide crowd from Australia, Canada, Ireland, France and even Holland aka The Netherlands :P !

Anyway, we got a spot offered to play as being a sponsor, as we develop and test our new balls on our local Par3 course at Terrey Hills and got involved with Short Course Golf players for testing purposes on short game needs.

Terrey Hills - Promo

The Terrey Hills Par3 Course is very much like a normal golf course, with greatly challenged smaller mostly elevated greens, but you only need a wedge and a putter to play, as its longest hole is prolly 88 meters.

So as of tomorrow, ive got a National Championship - Match Play game under my belt too.. lol well, atleast I play 4 times before I will get knocked out :). I better give myself the NickName Per "Bye" van Duijn..lol as some of them play around -10 on a round.. hmpfff.. thats atleast 10 birdies grrr..

See my draw - one dutch guy in there too :)
Website: Australian Pitch and Put Association

BTW, again..this form of golf to me has massive potential to be big every where.. it doesnt need that much space, it gives a fantastic challenge, it covers the biggest part of the normal golf, and you can facilitate it better also for night golf with lights plus you can play it in just two hours, ideal for after work or work catch up, or just with friends instead of a movie or with the partner you name it.

handicap 18

handicap18.jpg

Yeah, ive done it.. within 2 years of proper golf, I reached handicap 18! Was aiming to get my handicap down before Xmas 2007 to 18, and my last trip to Canberra already done it.. my handicap is 17.9 at the moment, so no more shots help on any hole.. its me and the course now!
To be honest, if I get my wasted shots down a bit, I must reach 12 asap..
so lets focus on that first, concistancy is the keyword now, and 14 the goal... prolly go up first again lol,.. thats golf!

Ultimate weekend

tallwoods1.jpg

Tonight im celebrating my friend Brendan's Bday @ The Belgian Beer Cafe in Cammeray. We go by cab, and going to try as much Belgium beers as we can with nice cooked mussels Belgium style!! :)

The morning after though I get picked up at 6 am, for a boys golf kwak.jpg
weekend away at the famous Tallwoods Estate. We've got 16 blokes and 4 Villa's plus 2 BBQ's with many many many Beers, and 3 days of Golf booked on the estate...YAY

The golf course is ranked in top 25 finest of Australia, and its as famous as it is feared.

The ride towards Tallwoods, should be around 3.5 hours.. so hopefully that will clear my head enough to pump a great score!

Back Monday.. bye!

Played with the new Vision Xpert2 for a while and it performs well, very impressed! I am just to hooked and used to the performance and ez to find Vision UV Yellow.

Canberra is a fun place tho, but all places work when your in great company.

A1GP and FOXtel

a1gpcarlogo.gifI used to write some excitement away about A1GP, the to me still best balanced motor sport race in the world. Now they are racing a stone throw away from me at Eastern Creek, i'm going to share what is killing the fun!!

First of all, not many people are connected with the A1GP in Australia, that is mentally and also a big part is not able to watch it.
How come.. well, in Australia FOX pay-tv has the rights to broadcast A1GP, and although this is a nation vs nation race, only people who pay around $50,- a month to FOXtel are able to watch it.

Who created this problem I dont know, maybe Sheik Maktoum Hasher Maktoum Al Maktoum (former owner and developer of A1GP), was thinking a bit to much in getting his investments covered.. and sold to the highest bidder, who is always is Pay-Tv, or the marketing department of A1GP was only focused on $$$ and not on creating wide spread A1GP lovers and took the bait.. dont know dont care, thing is... now its in the hands of FOXtel they are holding it tight behind their iron curtains.

It is not even possible to watch the race online through A1GP's live feeds, as Australian viewers are not aloud to use this free service, just gues who ordered that.

SkyNews_Image_20060713061057.jpg

Just before the race in Australia and the one in New Zealand, there is the minimum of Ads running on the Free To Air TV channels to get the audience at the races themselves, obviously the race tracks get some room to shout and get the boxes filled.

My point is, that FOXtel is killing a what should be a national sport, not only is this hurting the viewers, but also it is hurting the drivers and their opportunities.

So today is the A1GP race on at Eastern Creek, and I wish every team the best but Team NL is obviously my favorite. I could attend this race and I really thought about it.. but nah, its like fueling a fire I can't hold up.. and besides ive got an important birthday to attend.

For the pride of your Nations, ... ow sorry.. only for the FOXtel paying Australians.... start you engines!!

Northbridge

Played Golf on Northbridge again last weekend for the "corner club", gosh i really like that course.. its a goattrack to walk, being set on a cliff, we played from the medal tees, what made it way more interesting.
Didnt score enough to take a bite out of my handicap of 25 atm, im way to sloppy in my short game for that.
I did win the B grade 1st prize tho.. happy enough with that.
Last prize gets the horse head club cover, had that one for two weeks ..lol
This saturday we play Mona Vale again, lots of water but nice big fairways.. I put my big driver back in the closet and using my default little driver, have to try to stay save a bit more.

2 cards

Another 2 cards in for the "corner club", and a big reality check.. still sitting on 25, today the short game fell to pieces and last week we played on newly cord greens, and just couldnt get the normal puts going.

We did play on some stunning courses along the Northern Beaches of Sydney. Last sunday we played on Mona Vale Golf Club, and today we played on the nearby Long Reef.

monavale.jpg

Mona Vale is a very though course with very big water area's and also very strong tree lines. Course management is a must, and although many holes look you can rip your driver down the fairway, you mostly end up with a tough hook or draw to play to reach ur destination. But a great pleasure to play, and the back nine gives you a nice sea breeze as refreshment.

longreef.jpg

Long reef is a Links course, not many trees and built on a cliff towards the sea. It has a very own style to it, and has some nice old "St Andrews" characteristics
The wind is always the extra factor, and today there was plenty. The greens were lightning fast, prolly the fastest I ever played on.. Although u can miss a fairway or two and would be able to get back, the course really has some very nasty traps embedded.

Next week we play North Bridge again, the aka the Goat track.. atleast ive been there now.
Lookin forward to play again.

Golf & Poker, Busy Day

Busy day tomorrow .. but a very interesting one, 2 of my new aquired hobby's sinds ive come to Australia

Poker (Texas Hold'm) and Golf (As straight as possible :P)

@ 6.30 AM hit off for my second card for the "Corner Club", playing on Warringah Golf Course. Ive played this course before, and hopefully would score a bit better then last score on Northbridge. The course is o so much more forgiving then Northbridge and me the "big driver" can miss a fairway or two without being OB. :)

After that its straight to the poker finals @ freeway hotel Artarmon
This years New South Wales winner for the NPL gets produced by a two day showdown, done the "World Poker Tour" way.

There are 8 venues, and they all play till the magic number of the day is reached. As these tourneys are like every other knockout based without rebuys, after hours of play there is a final, lets say 400 left from I think atleast 1200 finalists. Then they say.. STOP PLAYING, and they do a chip count. I believe every1 starts with 2000 in chips.. and you just have to survive the day with that to reach the final day.
Because there are more venues that play you have more top 5's of those venues that are participating. Last season it was around 800 finalist of NSW (600 turned up).
The blinds (compulsory bets, every one gets at his/her turn) will go up every half hour i guess.

My game is a bit unfortunate at the moment, so hopefully I'll find some more live cards tomorrow!
Im sure I'll have to fight the sleep, after a full round of golf, so I've got my W800i walkman phone armed with a 2GB memory stick, loaded with kewl traxx and some poker also to kill the time when not getting good cards to play :)

**** UPDATE ****

Hmm.. as excited as the day was, ended pretty non rewarding.. put another bad card in for golf, but hey.. better then NorthBridge, and towards the end I did play 5 pars in a row.
So the good thing about a bad card, is when they estimate my handicap, and I start playing a bit more how I think.. watch this, how I THINK :) i can play, prolly win the comp every week for a little while :)
But Im better of laying that to rest, cuz this aint really cards im proud of.. grr
After that I barely made the poker event, every1 was already started but they fit me in.
In my first two hands I took one guy out, he must be livid.. I mean here is this dude rockin up late then the first two hands I take him out.
After that I stayed alive not gaining and slightly loosing till the last 50 of the 180 were left.
They already announce they gonna do the stop at 43 players left, and they would go to the next day.
I lost one little hand, so I was back to 2500 in chips.. I figured, when I go to the other event I wanna go bigger then 2500 in chips, as its a 1.5 hour drive to that Sunday event... plus I can't play golf that morning, I wanted to make it a bit more worth while.
I pulled another guy in my "all inn" as the flop connected me with the 10 and there was already 7000 in the pot, so this was it... yes or no.
The river came (last card), another diamond (4 diamonds on the board).. giving every one with a diamond the flush, so despite being leader from flop till fourth turn, my jack of diamonds wasnt enough as my opponent had the queen.
Unlucky but thats poker.. and quite honestly, thats my game at the moment... making the most out of any situation I can think of, then getting booted on a situation like that.
My mate Nick, who came 2nd in Carlingford made the decision to stay in.. so did a couple of others of the venue I play in.. I wish them good luck.

The good thing is I guess they got my poker table ready as they asked for my address to ship it too :)

Handicap?

In a couple of hours I tee off for my first card to calculate my official handicap for golf.
After 2 years of playing unofficial, trying to get a game in its time to see what all those hours have for result.
Alex hooked me up with the "Corner Club", this is a socialclub that play's every saturday morning on different courses through out Sydney North Coast. This socialclub calculates the handicap through golflink.com.au.
This morning, Tee off time is 5.30 AM.... whut!, yea.. 5.30.. and as I said in a couple of hours I tee off, I'm already up. I tried to get some sleep.. but going to bed at 10pm isnt my cup of thee.

We play at Northbridge this morning, and I've never played there, so lets see what all these factors have for result on my first scorecard.

If i'm right they take my first 3 cards to calculate my handicap, so in 3 weeks we will know.

What GOLF handicap will i score?? any guesses?

*** UPDATE ***
Wow that was a very tough course, what the picture doesnt show its built on a cliff that drops like 200 mtrs.
I was completely exhausted after a round, and have seen almost every OB (Out of Bounce) out there, I lost 4 balls on this course.
They gave me a handicap of 25, and with that I scored 31 points on stableford scoring.
Although it was tough, I really liked the course.. one of the most challenging ive played on.

One card in..

Indy300

indy300.jpg
Tomorrow morning ill jump in a rental car with 5 other mates, and we are going to drive for 10 hours to reach .......
The Gold Coast - Surfers Paradise !!

For 4 days we are going to suck up all the petrol fumes and environmental pleasures on the Gold Coast during the Indy300.. HOOHAY!

I've no idea where we staying but Im sure its good, as Paul who arranged it has done it more times before.
The agenda is packed for those days.. and in the nights we prolly explore this happening from the pubs perspective (lucky guess).

indy2.jpg

indy3.jpg
Besides the Indy300 the Australian V8's are racing also this weekend, so that 2 main events packed into one weekend.
I'm prolly more connected to the V8's as I'm interested into the Indy.. but hey.. its race cars, kewl invironment, great company.. and some beers aight!

Wont bring notebook so I'll sign of for a couple of days.. hopefully got some nice pics when I come back!

A1GP Zandvoort

After a very successful last season, the A1GP is ready to start this weekend the 06/07 season, with a nice new addition to the tracks,.. yes location The Netherlands, Zandvoort!
This was great news, when I heard it.. also last season I really really enjoyed the dutch teams effort in the master of motor sports. Finishing just outside the top 3 in this new league is a very good result. But most of all I loved seeing Jos Verstappen driving again...and I mean Jos driving, Jos Style™!
A1GP_0607.jpg
As I was getting ready to see how to view the race here, as last year it only got broadcast live through paytv, and the day after a short review on FreeToAir tv, I got the message that Jos pulled out.. grrrrrr.. WTF!

Link:
nu.nl - jos a1gp

Again I am a Jos fan... but I will rephrase my view, as this is happening to much for being a Jos fan in my level. Throughout his whole F1 career, there are more of these kind of disappointments, and don't get me wrong as it aint always Jos his fault or the managements fault, its more the situation.
My gut feeling is Huub Rothengather (Jos Manager), is a bit the "all-in" type on the poker table, I mean there is no meet in the middle or see where we can meet, its all or nothing kinda style...

Jos has done a great deal for A1GP, and the A1GP itself acknowledged him as the most interesting driver.. seeing his actions on the track he is the real driver out there, not the lap robot.
Also a big reason for A1GP comming to The Netherlands, has in my opinion a great deal todo with Jos the Boss.

But who knows.. I mean this situation is about getting paid to late.. and you have to stand your grand when you warn and beg for a complete year to pay on time.
Anyways.. doesnt matter.. very disappointed, and I will rephrase my "Jos fan" status to, "Jos fan - when he actually is racing".
:P

Team Netherlands will go ahead without Jos, which is good for young and new talent from the Dutch wet and most below sea-level ground, and I am sure we have enough.. as now Jeroen Bleekemolen will drive the Dutch A1GP car, en he will do a good job at that no doubt.
So good luck guys.. but sad not to see Jos drive.

DUTCH F1 TEAM

spyker.jpg

Wow, this is fantastic news... the dutch car company Spyker, has bought the Midland F1 team. (former Jordan).

A dutch F1 team.. can you believe it ? !

They also signed as technical director Mike Gascoyne (Jordan, Renault, Toyota). And as Midland F1 was building a car for 2007, the gossip is now it will have the V8 Ferrari engine in the Spyker MF1.. well lets see about that later.

Hopefully they will put 2 dutch drivers on (VERSTAPPEN!!!)
.. and hopefully they can close the gap at the back of the grid to be a more competitive team. But that we will see in 2007 i think..

Overtaking is an Art!

Verstappen champagne spuiten!! Wat gaaf man.. zooooo.. stoer!

Nou 1.2.3. sePANG! Jos op 1 ..

Proud to be (in) Ozzie

Cheers all! .. Cheers "Goose" !

A1GP Eastern Creek 2005

easterncreek.jpg

De kaartjes zijn binnen.. We gaan naar Eastern Creek a.s. Zondag!

Eerste stap bij aankomst is even een knal oranje Jos the Boss cap kopen! :)
HOOYAH !

A1GP - Test Paul Ricard

A1 GP - PowerBoost! part 2

A1 GP - PowerBoost!

Knight Rider technologiën in A1 GP !!

PowerBoost

The PowerBoost system adds a whole new dimension to international motorsport and is unique to the A1 Grand Prix Series. By changing the engine's parameters, the system can give the driver an additional 30bhp over a limited time during each race. Taking the A1 Car to its maximum 550bhp, when used at the right time, the PowerBoost will encourage overtaking meaning the race leader could change on a lap-by-lap basis making even more exciting racing.

The PowerBoost function is driver activated via a button mounted on the steering wheel. Each driver will have a limited amount of time over which he can use the extra power. Once this allotted time has passed the system will become disabled - after each race the Zytek engineers will then reset the system on each car ready for the next race.

Each driver will need to use his skill to carefully manage how and when the system is used during the race.

TOPPIE !
