Euro 2008 live

Watch Euro Cup 2008 live online via:
freelivevoetbal.nl

Good list of different types of programs to use and languages/channels to choose from per game.
Also choose the application to view it with. I was already using SobCast and TVU player, but there are couple more to choose from.

YesTV SobCast
stream did the NED1 broadcast for the already legendary NETHERLANDS vs ITALY game, so I could enjoy the game complete with dutch commentary (Frank Snoeks - Tom Egberts - Johan Cruijff etc) and vibe! :) what a cracker of a game!!

Mac Os reading NTFS

MacOs X can READ and WRITE on FAT32 partitions, but FAT 32 has a limit to 4GB files, and I have a few of those. OSX is able to READ NTFS but can't default write. Ive seen a couple of solutions, but think i'm going to give this one a go:

SE Alarm in off mode

logo_sony_ericsson.jpg

My friend Vicky told me this great feature of my SE w800i phone, and im sure many other phones have the same feature, but I really really like it!

When you use your phone alarm to wake up or anything else you need it for, my phone doesnt need to be on for it to start ringing in the morning. No worries about ur battery, just set alarm and turn your phone off.
Try if yours has it.. very helpfull little feature to make life tiny bit better :)

Yay, lets start the new year with death, the one from the "good riddance" kind! Sony BMG plans to drop DRM, to be the last major company that was still holding on to the technology to protect.. yeah.. to protect what!?..lol prolly to protect the high profit margin, thats all it was doing.. pff killing every other opportunity for the artist I still believe. Finally they understand, "The customer is always right!"

Now im back in Australia, looking for proper communication, I started using skype again. Ive used skype ages ago a couple of times, and it just didnt do it for me at that time. But now.. OMFG, this is superb stuff! Just finished a great chat with my lovely Sil, and my parents on our crappy internet connection in Aus (512/1536 shared by 6 ppl), with full screen webcam view (640x480). ie7 is here!

ie7.jpg
Dunno about other Internet Explorer users, but I installed IE7 a few months ago, and uninstalled it after a month of using the Internet Explorer 7 Release Candidate 1.

I found out that most of my web productions I was working on looked good in IE7 and looked good in FireFox, but didnt look good in IE6.
So i had to uninstall IE7 again, and work from IE6 point of view untill the day comes that we all have IE7!

Got an automated update yesterday, and didnt really look at it... this morning I rebooted, and tadaa my IE7 was back!
Dont know if it was a forced IE6 to IE7 switch or that the updates triggered to IE7 to come alive again. Any way Ive read on the IE blog that there are more IE7 users now then Firefox users, so I will stick with it now.
At the same time IE7 came with the built in phishing net! Thats a good thing, I mean you just want to get that extra message saying your on the wrong site if you have now idea what you are doing.

I liked IE7 before I uninstalled it, and I love the RSS reader.. now also having the search box integrated plus some free add-ons that makes my Google toolbar absolete actually, sorry Google the big bear wins again!, very slow though but nice and powerful :)

Get your IE7 copy here, so I can start developing sites again without having to look back :)
If ur a Firefox user, stick to ur guns.. RESPECT!

Intranet Blog

I wonder what kind of complete intranet blogs are available; as I’ve seen many feature for example this blog (MovableType), good enough for a business environment.
I know big companies like McDonalds and Microsoft etc are using intranet blogging, but that still supports only a small group that has benefit from it within.
I have no idea what situations are available to completely wipe out the in every office used whiteboard for who's in or not etc.. I mean that should be viewable on the intranet, so ppl with VPN's from home can see also.
Then the corporate memo's that generate a full-scale mail mass, cuz some person for whateva reason hits the "reply to all button", i mean send out a brief intro to subscribed members through the blog, and let the persons comment if they want in a bigbrothered environment, for everyone to see.

Let all the outlooks or aggregators be subscribed to the companies RSS, feeds so the last 5, 10 ... whatever messages on the blog are viewable without going to the blog, and pushed next to the mail or on the start page of every browser.
Anyways many many opportunities for internal blogging..
Still have to find if it can host like a meeting room booking schedule, or a fully integrated agenda with all future functions etc.

Anyways, im going to look into it in the near future as I kinda warmed one of the Directors of the company I do work for at the moment. I mean this is the ideal surroundings, as all are very technical engineers here at this place, and like new technologies etc.

If you come across this message for some reason, and you have some ideas to share or questions to ask feel free.. any help appreciated!Hopefully in January I can start building an intranet blog.

TVU

tvu.jpg
I was browsing for a online tv stream showing the A1GP last weekend, as my old stream doesnt show it anymore. I didnt found a stream showing the A1GP live at that time.. but I did find this nice little application called TVU player from TVU Networks.

This is a beta test player from this company, I think they are trying to get ready for good bandwidth times so they can sell the TV channels all over the world.
For now its free, and its a little application to download, and without any fancy stuff your on your way watching more then 40 channels like FOX usa, ESPN 1 + 2, Animal Planet, CBS, ABC even Al Jazeera is in there.. There are tons of sport channels, also many music channels.. and my favorite one the Comedy Channel :)
You can leave the screen in the little window or view almost full screen.

tvuplayer.jpg

I have no idea how long it will be free, and yes its a beta version + not all channels display very correctly.. but hey its getting there.

Link:
TVU Player Download

I'm pretty sure when I find some timetables and convert them to Aussie time I would be able to catch the race on one of those channels, lets hope for the best.

DevToolBar

The Microsoft DevToolBar - Are you a web developer?, do you have to check, review or create web applications or plain web sites, the DevToolBar from Microsoft is the tool to have.. Switch screensizes, look up tables or DIV's, validate your CSS or HTML on the fly, measure distances or use the DOM explorer to highlight your or others work.
I mean the hardest job is making your work function in al those browsers out there with different ways of rendering your work. Atleast the DevToolBar gives you an easier way of looking for the problem.. you still have to find it yourself obviously! :P

If Beta2 doesnt scare you away tho.. lol

Link:
Microsoft - DevToolBar

Overview:
The Internet Explorer Developer Toolbar provides several features for exploring and understanding Web pages. These features enable you to:

-- Explore and modify the document object model (DOM) of a Web page.
-- Locate and select specific elements on a Web page through a variety of techniques.
-- Selectively disable Internet Explorer settings.
-- View HTML object class names, ID's, and details such as link paths, tab index values, and access keys.
-- Outline tables, table cells, images, or selected tags.
-- Validate HTML, CSS, WAI, and RSS Web feed links.
-- Display image dimensions, file sizes, path information, and alternate (ALT) text.
-- Immediately resize the browser window to a new resolution.
-- Selectively clear the browser cache and saved cookies. Choose from all objects or those associated with a given domain.
-- Choose direct links to W3C specification references, the Internet Explorer team weblog (blog), and other resources.
-- Display a fully featured design ruler to help accurately align and measure objects on your pages.

The Developer Toolbar can be pinned to the Internet Explorer browser window or floated separately.

This Beta 2 version of the toolbar contains functionality and stability enhancements over previous versions and includes the following improvements.

-- You can now selectively enable and disable CSS parsing.
-- The Misc menu contains a color picker.
-- Several link reports are available.
-- When you select an element in the DOM element tree list, the selected element scrolls into view if it is not already visible in the browser window.

Tnx to Brian from Silicon Control!

TextPipe

uksmall.jpg On a daily basis I work with TextPipe, and the word has to get out! This tool is so kewl... I started using it for data mining in combination with Offline Explorer, but TextPipe has way more to offer. Its saves you so much time changing or ripping files from whatever kind.. just create the filter or use one of the many available, and pick the target.
Even the most complex filters or perl strings are creatable with the addon Easy Pattern Maker!
TextPipe can also dig deep into your database.. and change what ever you want.

In my case in example, I had 300+ productpages locally saved, and in a few minutes I created the perfect filter to get rid of all the HTML tags and extra unwanted info :P TextPipe run through all the files in a couple of seconds to fix it and to add the info and style I created!

Firefox and..

uksmall.jpg

dreamweaverVSfirefoxLOGO.jpg

Well if it aint so, i've found an excuse why my site isnt Firefox, and prolly also in Safari, 100% viewable.. lol
Me and my poor HTML knowledge, fell in the Dreamweaver trap, as other webmasters believe the code that Dreamweaver generates is not Firefox compatible :)

My site was fine, then along came firefox
Frontpage and dreamweaver both create code that FF cannot handle.

From:
http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum83/7978.htm

Dont worry im starting to use Adobe GoLive CS2 now.. so hopefully DUIJNUNDER.com can be completely all browser compatible in the near future.
Till then.. sorry folks it aint completely my fault ! pfieuw.. :)

Picasa 2

uksmall.jpgHey did u tried Picasa 2 already?? powered by google! .. i must say WOW.. pretty kewl. I was using Bridge from adobe that came with the CS2 creative suite for browsing to pictures, but that is way to laggy and heavy.
Seen the link today on google.com, funny thing is that the link doesnt appear yet on google.nl, and it does again appear on google.com.au.. hmmpff
I have to test all the functions, but so far the online tour looks very nice, and simple.
Picasa is now scanning my notebook, and I can assure you a have many pictures in there.. so far he passed my "temp".. internet files" without showing, thank god.. lol

The picture browsing is smooth, even when its scanning.. (aint finished yet).. and already I see many pictures I havent seen before, and happy to have.. also couple of pictures I thought I lost.. and funny thing is it is also showing pictures from ingame scene's.
Ow.. and btw, its FREE ! whut.. yay FREE, no banners etc.. prolly has some tracking software for google, but I cant care any more about that!

LamaBox.com

uksmall.jpg Jaaaaaaah... that's how you do it! The LamaBox! P2P for everyone! Or should I say.. movie on demand :)
One of the fabulous features of the Lamabox is that everyone now can download with simple buttonclicks the movies or music or whateva they want from almost all the P2P and shareware networks out there! And watch it directly on the TV or burn it to DVD.

Although they made a very nice box for it, I rather have the software on its own, so you can put theire technologie in whateva MediaCenter PC you have cooked up!

Another gr8 feature is the box not only downloads the movie or content you want, but also shares it! This means a set way ppl share stuf, and will result in a much better availability, as most P2P people squeeuze uploads, or kill uploads with not even shared 1 third.
Thumbs up for the two dutch brothers who made this, and good luck with all the lawsuits they are going to get, as I believe u guys already prepared for that :)

PS brothers Potappel (iPodApple :), if you guys stop producing the lamabox for whateva reason, pls release the searchspider, preferably under GNU/GPL!

NEWSFLASH: What comes around goes surround!
