Sony DRM spyware part 2

uksmall.jpgThe Italy version of EFF called ALCEI is already preparing a lawsuit against Sony's DRM rootkit scheme.
But now it goes a little step further as the patent holder is filing a lawsuit to all online music stores like Apple, Sony Connect, Real Networks, Napster etc.. who are using the DRM technology, as Ho Keung Tse of Hong Kong strongly believes they are violating his patent.

"The intent of the suit is not to control DRM" or "try and obtain untold riches," said Joseph Zito, a patent attorney for ZITO tlp, the Damascus, Md.-based law firm handling Tse's case. Instead, he says, "Mr. Tse and his company would like a reasonable royalty for what he's come up with and innovated."

Now who's the bad guy now.. lol !

But don't let this all throw sand in your eyes, as previously noted rootkits are bad, very bad.. even more then the crappy coding Sony used, what is an extra open door to abuse.
What can we expect when even more criminal people use the "rootkit" style to infect your machine, or even worse.. when Sony picked this technology up, it must have been floating around for a little while in the dark deep corners of the digital world.. :(
