Alright, in the journey towards a life living with both OSX and XP operating systems on a MacBook Pro, I will post my findings here.

The first one is that the keyboard layout of the Mac doesnt have all the PC functions, and is set towards a OSX use, and one of Mac's coolest features is the backlight of the keyboard, and the backlight of the apple logo on the back.
The input remapper ive found does both of the above for your XP install.
This tool lets you configure input bindings to add some PC functions to your Mac layout, plus it ads the backlight to come up when its getting darker around you :)

After a massive 4 years, my true trooper and dear companion passed away. My beloved HP nc8000 has been a super piece of equipment to me, and I was blessed and amazed about its performance and very impressive endurance. Even in the last hours it was capable of handling my massive Photoshop files and even been able to run COD4 :)
(My HP nc8000 - 1.6 Ghz Mobile proc, 2Gb RAM, 40 GB HD + 80 GB HD Multibay, Ati 9200 Pro Mobile 64 Mb dedicated)
Ok ok.. this was really bad timing, and was hoping for it to survive until June or July, thanks to some quick support on both sides of the globe (Pa & Steve from Vital), I was able to acquire quickly a new machine, and took with that a huge step forward! As of now I can try to enter the design world as a MacBook Pro user.
Equipped with a massive 250 Gb HD and 4GB RAM on Mac OSX AND Windows XPPro i've got all the best of both worlds!

Installing the MacBook with both operating systems was a breeze with BootCamp and all XP drivers packed in the box by Mac! Now who’s not afraid hey :)
Although Im familiar with Mac Os and already acquired a special interest in the OS, for now I am still setting myself up on XPPro, mainly coz I have most software for it.
Lots of new hurdles to conquer to make both worlds work the way I want or was used to, but for sure its going to be a very interesting journey!
But excuse me for a moment,.... first I have to delete "comic sans" from my new machine before I proceed :)
Thanks HP nc8000 for a super time! -RESPECT-
Still a lot of work todo, but as of today my newest creation went live: www.bartonmawer.com. YAY
We had to go online just in time for the Australian grandprix in Melbourne where Barton has 4 races in the Australian Porsche Carrera Cup.
The site runs on Joomla 1.5 CMS and ive built a template from scratch to fit my design, what was an interesting adventure on its own, and still needs some attention here and there :) But ive been able to do the whole thing on my own, and im pleased with that!
The site is tested and runs good on:
IE 7.0.5
Opera 9.01
Firefox 2.0.0.12
Safari (win) 3.0.3 - u gotta love the graphics rendering :)
If someone spots problems please let me know the browser and version.
Barton himself has been an absolute champ in delivering content, photo's and logo's plus he's been superb in communication! Good luck this weekend mate hope you get the top 5 now!
That's y men should never be put on a salad diet!
David West posted a new and superb "Go West" 2 hour mix on his site if your interested!
