A couple of weeks ago, I sneaked late onto the golf course just around the corner from were I live to play a couple of holes just before dark. It had rained heavily before and I had the place complete to myself...

I noticed this turtle in the bunker stretching the neck every couple of seconds. When I walked around, the turtle kept doing her thing.. ok ok.. this was finally an animal that doesnt really take off when you approach, but this time it had another reason to stay, as the turtle was laying her eggs in the side of the bunker while I was there..

I watched a little while, hearing the little white eggs plop into the nest, and decided to let the turtle do her job in some peace :)

Some very interesting wild life experience I must say..

When am I close to nature??!... yes, playing golf.. lol, so most of my encounters with Australian wildlife is on the golfcourse.
This encounter with a giant (in my opinion) Goanna happened also a couple of months ago on the golfcourse in Turramurra.
My ball missed the elevated green and bounced into the lower part right below this tree.. not really a difficult lie, and i've been there before.. trust me.. lol
As preparing my chip up, this crackling noise occurred, and some tree bits started falling down. When I looked up I was staring into this fellows behind.
Lucky.. yes very lucky the Goanna hasn't dropped himself from the tree and grabbed me instead.. dont think my body could hold his big claws.

I've seen one before on another course prolly the same size (+/-1.20 mtr), but didnt had my phonecamera at that time. I must say this was one of my most intriguing encounters, I've always had a soft spot for these dragon kind of creatures.

As I told you in previous post, we're houseminding with 2 cats!, and I was saying these cats are always hungry!! .. now we've found the reason why.. lol
There is an intruder in the house.. yes bigbrother your not the only one.. may I present to you, the POSSUM! !
possum2.jpg
I must say I'm quite taken by this animal, I really really like it.. its a big fella.. I mean, i've heard stories about cats eating these animals or atleast killing them, but when I took this picture the man of the house "gray cat", called "Benny" was standing behind me watching this intruder eating HIS food.. lol!, and I dont see any cat attacking this guy/girl..

As I said I really like the little fellow, but then again the laundry is very close to the kitchen and before you know it, this overgrown rat will prolly start opening and eating/drinking the fridge empty! lol..
So i'm feeding the cats just enough so they completely eat it their dinner.. , hopefully it will stop mister possum to enter the house as there is no food left..
Ally suggested to put some food outside on the balcony for him, but I'm pretty sure that "gray cat", will eat that before mr possum comes.. we'll have to figure something out..
